It’s too damn cold out.
The sale has moved to 10 Jay Street, Suite 606. Same great stuff, warmer location.
What is this?
It’s the first-ever “stoop-sale, party, excuse-to-clean-out-your-closet-and-help-your-stuff-find-a-new-home, fundraiser, meet-your-neighbors, one-day-only spectacular inside the Manhattan Bridge” Hole Sale.

No really, what is this?
IÔm Jessi, and I love second-hand shopping almost as much as I love rainbows. This year for my birthday I’ve decided to reduce my wardrobe from 500+ items to a mere 100 items or less. To make this less scary, I thought I’d throw a big party, sell my stuff to benefit a great cause, and invite everyone else to do the same!
Then I met the good people of the DUMBO Improvement District, and they said I could use their Archway under the Manhattan Bridge for the Sale. I almost passed out. What a great location for a market, not to mention a party! I mean seriously, you must admit archways look suspiciously like rainbows, and with all the full-on goodness we’re planning to put in this Bridge Hole, I wouldn’t be surprised if we experienced a unicorn sighting or two.
Addressing the rumors...
Is this just one big excuse for a party?
More or less. After all, it is Jessi’s birthday. But it’s also a few other things: a great reason to do all your spring cleaning done, a fabulous pretense to do some shopping, a fun way to hang out with friends and neighbors, and a phenomenal excuse to wear a bright color and put a smile on your face!
Did someone say something about music?
We want the whole thing to feel like a funky independent music video, so we’ll be featuring local musicians throughout the day. Hopefully a specific line-up will be published soon!
Is there really a dress code?
It’s more of a suggestion... If you want to be “on theme,” not to mention make Jessi’s year, do your best to dress head to toe in ONE COLOR. Then we’ll be able to get some great Rainbow Birthday photos of you!
What’s this about girls and rock-n-roll?
After we cover costs for permits and porta potties, all proceeds from this event will go directly to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls scholarship fund. So the more you buy, the more girls we can send to Rock Camp! And this just in: Rock Camp alum Bey Redding will be performing her own song for us at 1:00 p.m.!
I read somewhere there’s going to be a rainbow parade.
We can neither confirm nor deny the existance of plans for a Rainbow Parade to begin in the Archway at exactly 2:00 p.m. We can however confirm that Raya Brass Band will be on hand from precisely 2:00 — 3:00 p.m.
I heard I can drop off donations early.
Sure thing! We’ll start accepting donations at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. If you’ve got items to donate and would like to get them off your hands sooner than that, just send an email and we can set something up. We’ll do whatever we can to get tons of cool stuff at this Sale!
Should I attend?
It takes a lot of terrific friends to put together an event like this in only two weeks. Damn, I’m one lucky so and so!
